Although they could not record a victory losing both of their games 0-44 against Crusaders and 20-22 against Bury the Owls squad are starting to play some accomplished rugby on their rebuilding season.

The Owls pack were impressive and dominated the scrum in both games, strong tackling from Hannah Squire, Megan Emery and Leah Farmer kept them in both games.

The first game against Crusaders proved to be a struggle for The Owls who despite some good forward play and outstanding tackling they failed to register a score. With Leah Farmer, Hannah Squire and Ellen Hellard driving the Owls forward inside Crusaders 5m line the ball was unfortunately turned over and this was the closest they came to score.

Against Bury the Owls finally clicked and took the lead when Leah Farmer scored her first try for the club for a 5-0 lead.
The Owls doubled their points tally when debutant Megan Emery sprinted from the halfway line to score.

Bury pulled a score back when the Owls were caught defending too narrowly but held a 10-5 lead with the conversion missed.

Daisy Cornell became the third Owl to score her first try for the club and on debut also.

The Owls were really clicking and playing some great forward dominated rugby with confidence.

Bury were not to be denied and scored twice quickly and making one conversion took a 15-17 lead.

Harwich retook the lead with another unconverted try to set up a busy last 5 minutes.

Bury scored what proved to be the winner running out 20-22 when The Owls knocked on a last scoring opportunity as time expired.
